What is a DirectInk Campaign?
At Directink we offer 2 different types of campaigns: fundraising campaigns and group ordering campaigns. The only difference between these two campaign are that fundraising campaigns mark the merchandise up in order to raise money. Group ordering campaigns simply leverage our easy-to-use platform to offer their group a simple and free way to order t-shirts online. You start each campaign by working with a campaign representative to create a custom t-shirt, sweatshirt or other custom designed product. Next, we help you you setup your very own campaign page, featuring your custom merchandise, and then invite your supporters to purchase your product. You can do all this with no risk, or cost because there are no setup fees and you don’t need to buy any inventory. Your campaign will need to sell a minimum to print, which is 25% of your sales goal. If you don’t reach the minimum we will refund your supporters for their product purchases. Campaigns that sell below 75% of their sales goal will receive an adjusted profit amount based on the amount of shirts sold. Campaigns that sell above 75% of their sales goal will receive the full amount. After your campaign is over, you then print and ship your shirts directly to your supporters and send you a check for the proceeds. It's as simple as that.
Who can start a DirectInk Campaign?
Anyone can. DirectInk Campaigns are designed to be simple and quick to launch. DirectInk is available to any individual or group that wants to raise awareness and money for a cause or to simply provide their group, club or organization with high-quality custom apparel.
What happens if I don't reach my print minimum?
Your campaign will need to sell a minimum to print, which is 25% of your sales goal. If you don’t reach the minimum we will refund your supporters for their product purchases. How much does it cost to run a DirectInk Campaign?
There are no up-front fees to create a DirectInk campaign. Once your campaign closes successfully, we send you all of the proceeds from your campaign.
How does DirectInk make money?
On each campaign DirectInk charges a small fee on the items you sell on top of the cost to produce and ship your order. This fee is included in your base-price calculation when setting up your DirectInk campaign page.
How much money can I raise?
There is no limit to the amount of money you can raise with a DirectInk fundraiser campaign. During your campaign, the more items you sell, the more money you will raise.
Are my funds raised taxable and who pays this?
By law it is your responsibility to report any income you generate from your DirectInk campaign. Residents of the U.S. are required to fill out a 1099 tax form if this income is in excess of $600. Consult with your tax advisor or attorney for additional information.
How will I get my funds?
All DirectInk campaign proceeds will be payed out via check approximately 7-10 business days after a campaign ends.
When should I expect to receive my shirt order?
Campaign orders will ship out 7-10 days after your DirectInk campaign closes.
How can I spread the word about my DirectInk campaign?
While we encourage you to be creative, we mainly recommend using email, Facebook and Twitter to make your community aware of your campaign. You should count on promoting it daily to remind (and thank!) supporters and encourage them to spread the word to their network. You might even consider having a party for the campaign - bring a laptop or a tablet so potential supporters have the opportunity to buy a shirt and donate while they celebrate.
Is there someone who can help create my design?
At DirectInk, we have a team of design consultants and artists available for you to use as much or as little as you'd like. We work with you to create and awesome design that your supporters will love.
How do my supporters pay for their shirts?
Your supporters pay for their shirts online through your campaign page using any popular credit or debit card.
I live outside the U.S., can I create a DirectInk campaign?
At this time, we are only able to offer services within the United States.
